Third Term 2025/2026 Academic Session
We are thrilled to mark the successful conclusion of the third term of the 2025/2026 academic session. Over the course of 12 enriching and productive weeks, beginning on 20th April 2026, STEM Child Care Academy enjoyed a season filled with progress, exploration, and valuable experiences. Our learners and staff engaged in a dynamic blend of academic excellence, creativity, innovation, and remarkable accomplishments, making the term both rewarding and unforgettable.
Training for All Staff Members
From 15th to 17th April 2026, a training programme was held for all staff across every level and section of the school to prepare them effectively for the academic term. The sessions focused on strengthening professional skills, improving teaching practices, and promoting collaboration among staff.
Additionally, all staff members completed British Council courses, including Safeguarding, Leadership, and other professional development programmes to support their continuous growth and enhance their overall development as educators.
PTA Meeting
On Saturday, 6th June 2026, the school held its Parent–Teacher Association (PTA) meeting, bringing together parents, members of staff, and the school management in a productive and engaging atmosphere. The meeting served as an important platform for meaningful discussions, collaboration, and the strengthening of the partnership between home and school.
Key matters relating to students' academic progress, school development, and overall wellbeing were discussed, while parents had the opportunity to share feedback, ask questions, and gain deeper insight into school activities and expectations. Staff and management also shared updates and plans aimed at enhancing the learning experience for all students.
The meeting reaffirmed the school's commitment to maintaining open communication and working closely with parents to support students' growth and success.
Sallah / Mid-Term Break
From 26th May to 29th May 2026, the school observed its Mid-Term Break and Sallah Break, providing students and staff with a period of rest and reflection.
The break also created an opportunity for Muslim staff and students to celebrate Eid with family and loved ones, marking the festive season with joy, gratitude, and togetherness before resuming academic activities.
Evaluation and Assessment
First Continuous Assessment Test
The school successfully conducted its first Continuous Assessment Test from 12th May to 14th May 2026. The assessment provided an opportunity to evaluate students' understanding, monitor academic progress, and reinforce learning across all year groups.
Second Continuous Assessment Test
Similarly, the Second Continuous Assessment Test was conducted from 16th June to 19th June 2026. This exercise further assessed students' academic progress and reinforced learning objectives across all year groups.
Terminal Examination
The terminal examinations were held from 1st to 9th July 2026. These examinations evaluated students' overall performance for the term across all subjects, testing both knowledge and application of concepts.
Rotary Kids Outing
As part of our Rotakids activities this term, our learners visited Care and Cuddles Primary School for a joint Rotakids meeting with members of the host school. The engagement provided an opportunity for meaningful interaction, collaboration, and shared learning among the young participants.
The discussion centred on the theme, "Peace Building and Conflict Resolution: The Rotakids Way." Each school was represented by three panellists, and our representatives— Rotakids Na'ima Sheriff, Hajara Zakari, and Alexander Ayodele—participated actively and confidently in the session.
During the interactive segment, participants responded thoughtfully to questions based on the topic, demonstrating excellent understanding and communication skills. To conclude the visit, our learners received an Anti-Bully banner as a gift and enjoyed a warm and entertaining reception.
Year 4 Educational Excursion to Nike Art Gallery
On the 22nd and 23rd of June 2026, our Year 4 learners visited Nike Art Gallery, Abuja, for an educational excursion organised by the History Department. The trip aimed to deepen their understanding of Nigerian art, culture, and history while encouraging creativity and appreciation for artistic expression.
During the guided tour, students explored paintings, sculptures, textiles, and beadwork while learning about the stories and cultural significance behind the artworks. They showed great interest in the displays of Nigerian heroes and heroines and actively engaged by asking thoughtful questions.
External Examinations
This term, our Year 9 students participated in a series of external examinations including the NECO BECE (Junior WAEC), Lower Secondary Cambridge Checkpoint Examinations, and ERC examinations. These assessments provided opportunities for students to demonstrate their learning and readiness for the next stage of their academic journey.
Our Year 5 students also sat for the Internal Common Entrance Examination as well as the Cambridge Checkpoint Examinations, gaining valuable assessment experience and preparing for future academic advancement.
We commend all students for their commitment and hard work throughout the examination period.
STEM Expo 2.0: Empowering Future Innovators
The school was filled with excitement and creativity as students showcased their innovation and problem-solving skills during the STEM Expo 2.0. The event brought together students, teachers, parents, and distinguished guests to celebrate achievements in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM).
The exhibition was graced by the presence of a representative of the Honourable Minister of State, alongside the Executive Director and Managing Director of NIGCOMSAT. The keynote address was delivered by Prof. Ishaq Ahmad, who encouraged students to embrace innovation, critical thinking, and technology-driven solutions.
Students displayed impressive projects across various STEM areas, including robotics, science, mathematics, and technology. Highlights of the event included competitions such as Maze Runner, Robot Soccer, and Wizbot, as well as entrepreneurial projects like Smart Waste Management Systems, Smart Bin, and Quarky Intellio Build-Ups. Other remarkable displays included the Smart City, Hydroponic Plant System, Smart House, and Grand Science Projects.
The exhibition concluded with the recognition of outstanding participants across different categories. Winners received cash prizes, with the PTA also presenting special awards to students whose projects demonstrated exceptional creativity, innovation, and business potential.
The STEM Fair Exhibition was more than just a competition—it was a celebration of talent, innovation, collaboration, and academic excellence. It provided students with a platform to transform ideas into practical solutions while fostering confidence, creativity, and entrepreneurial thinking. The event concluded on a high note, leaving participants, guests, and parents inspired by the remarkable potential of the next generation of innovators.
Mini Graduation Ceremony
On 27th June 2026, the school held a colourful Mini Graduation Ceremony to celebrate students advancing to the next phase of their academic journey. The ceremony brought together graduating pupils from the Preschool, Primary, and Junior Secondary sections, marking a significant milestone in their educational development.
During the event, the Preschool pupils were officially promoted to the Primary School, while the Year 5 pupils graduated into the College section. Likewise, the Year 9 students successfully completed their Junior Secondary education and were formally promoted to Year 10, ushering them into the Senior Secondary phase.
The graduating students were officially pronounced graduates by the School Superintendent, Miss Firdausi Abubakar, in the presence of proud parents, guardians, members of staff, and invited guests. Her words of encouragement inspired the students as they embarked on the next chapter of their academic journey.
The ceremony was more than a celebration of academic progression; it was a testament to the school's commitment to nurturing excellence, character, and lifelong learning. It concluded on a joyous note, leaving lasting memories for the graduates and their families while inspiring younger pupils to look forward to achieving similar milestones in the years ahead.
Spelling Bee Competition Report
The STEM Child Care Academy Spelling Bee Competition was successfully held during the third term as part of the school's commitment to promoting academic excellence, literacy, and effective communication. The competition brought together pupils and students from Year 1 to Year 10, providing learners across all levels with the opportunity to showcase their spelling proficiency, vocabulary, pronunciation, and confidence.
Conducted in stages, participants competed within their respective categories under the supervision of teachers and judges, ensuring fairness and adherence to the competition guidelines. The event created an atmosphere of excitement, healthy competition, and enthusiasm as contestants confidently spelt words of varying levels of difficulty before their peers and teachers.
The competition successfully achieved its objectives by encouraging learners to develop stronger reading habits, expand their vocabulary, improve their command of the English language, and build self-confidence in public speaking. The outstanding performances across all year groups reflected the dedication of both learners and teachers in preparing for the event.
It is recommended that the Spelling Bee Competition continues as an annual programme to further promote literacy, academic excellence, and a lifelong love for learning among STEM learners.
Press Club Excursion
On Thursday, 7th May 2026, members of the Press Club of STEM Child Care Academy embarked on an educational excursion to a news station. The visit was organised to expose students to the practical aspects of journalism and broadcasting while complementing the knowledge they acquire during Press Club activities.
The excursion aimed to provide students with first-hand experience of the daily operations of a professional news station, deepen their understanding of the processes involved in news gathering, editing, production, and broadcasting, inspire greater interest in journalism, media, and communication, and develop their confidence, observation, communication, and critical thinking skills. It also sought to bridge the gap between classroom learning and practical experience.
Upon arrival, the students were warmly received by members of staff at the station and taken on a guided tour of the newsroom, production unit, studio, and control room. During the tour, they observed how news stories are prepared before being aired and learned about the responsibilities of reporters, news editors, presenters, producers, camera operators, and other media professionals.
The students also had the opportunity to ask questions, interact with experienced journalists, and gain valuable insights into careers in the media industry.
The excursion proved to be both educational and engaging, as students gained first-hand knowledge of how a news station operates and developed a greater appreciation for the role of responsible journalism in society. The experience inspired many of them to consider future careers in media, broadcasting, and communication while reinforcing the importance of effective communication, teamwork, and professionalism.
Overall, the excursion successfully achieved its objectives and provided a rewarding practical learning experience for all participants. The management and staff of the news station are sincerely appreciated for their warm reception, hospitality, and willingness to share their expertise with our students. It is recommended that similar educational excursions be organised regularly to further broaden the learning experiences of Press Club members.
Islamiyyah Department
Alhamdulillāhi Rabbil-'Ālamīn. The Islamiyyah Department thanks Allah (SWT) for a successful term and appreciates the School Management, staff, parents, and students for their continued support and cooperation.
This term, the department carried out a reassessment and reclassification of students based on Qur'anic recitation and academic performance to improve class placement and learning outcomes. Fiqh was also reintroduced into the curriculum to strengthen students' understanding of Islamic teachings and daily practice. In addition, the department successfully hosted the combined 4th and 5th Qur'anic Graduation Ceremony to celebrate the achievements of graduating students.
For the next academic session, the department plans to reintroduce the remaining Islamiyyah subjects and review selected textbooks to improve teaching and learning. Holiday assignments for all sections will be shared via GoMobile, and parents are encouraged to support their children's completion of the tasks.
The department remains committed to continuous improvement in Qur'anic and Islamic education and prays for greater success in the coming session.
CRS Department
This third term has been a fulfilling and memorable conclusion to the academic year, marked by consistent spiritual growth, character development, and active student participation. Our weekly Friday Fellowships remained the highlight of the term, providing students with meaningful opportunities to strengthen their faith and confidently take part in worship.
Throughout the term, students enthusiastically handled various fellowship responsibilities, including leading opening and intercession prayers, reading Bible passages, presenting memory verses, singing special songs, and performing inspiring Bible dramas. Their confidence, teamwork, and willingness to serve reflected the Christian values and leadership skills nurtured during CRS lessons.
Students have also made remarkable progress in their Music and French studies, demonstrating improved musical skills, greater confidence in playing instruments, and a deeper understanding and appreciation of the French language.
As we conclude the academic session, it has been encouraging to witness students demonstrate greater understanding of biblical teachings through their words, actions, and relationships with others. We celebrate their academic, moral, and spiritual progress and are confident they will continue to uphold these Christian values as they advance to the next level.
Finance Department Wrap-up
Throughout the third term, the Account Department remained committed to ensuring transparency, accountability, and efficiency in the management of the school's finances. The department maintained accurate financial records, processed transactions promptly, and supported the smooth financial operation of the school.
To strengthen accountability, the department maintained effective internal controls through regular bank reconciliations, verification of payment requests, daily updating of financial records, and proper documentation of all financial transactions. However, challenges such as delayed payment of school fees by some parents, incomplete payment documentation, and increased workload during peak periods were experienced.
The department encourages prompt payment of school fees, strict compliance with financial procedures, timely submission of payment requests, and continued adoption of electronic payment channels. We appreciate the unwavering support of the School Management, staff, parents, and all stakeholders, and remain committed to maintaining sound financial management in the coming term.
In the next term, the department aims to further strengthen its financial management systems by improving the timeliness of financial activities and promoting greater compliance with established financial procedures. Efforts will also be directed towards increasing the use of digital financial platforms, improving fee collection efficiency, and providing prompt financial support for school programmes and activities.
The department remains committed to ensuring accountability, transparency, and effective stewardship of the school's financial resources.

As part of the activities for the holiday period:
Preschool
Holiday worksheets will be provided for the children to complete during the break.
Primary School and College
Students will be assigned Edureach tasks. The timetable and schedule for the tasks will be shared accordingly by the respective Heads of Sections.
Parents and students are encouraged to take note and ensure that all assigned holiday tasks are completed within the stipulated period.
How to Access Your Child's Result on GoMobile
Parents and guardians can conveniently access their children's results through the school's GoMobile App by following these simple steps:
- Download the School App.
- Login using the provided username and password.
- On the notification page, click the middle button (four dots).
- Select Students' Report.
- Choose the current session and term.
- If results are available, they will be marked as "Ready".
- Click the download arrow on the right and open the file using any document viewer.
- If you have more than one child, return to the notification page, click the three short horizontal lines (menu), toggle the bar for the other child, and repeat the process.
