The World I Want to Leave Behind
Imagine waking up one morning to a world where children no longer fear going to school, where people care for one another, and where the earth is treated not as something we own, but as something we are responsible for. That is the world I want to leave behind.
I want to leave behind a world where every child has the opportunity to learn, dream, and become whoever they choose to be. No child should be told that their future is limited because of poverty, gender, disability, or where they were born. Education should open doors, not remind us of the doors that are closed.
I also want to leave behind a healthier planet. Our forests, oceans, rivers, and wildlife are not merely resources for our use; they are part of the home we share. I hope future generations will breathe clean air, drink clean water, and enjoy green spaces without wondering what happened to the natural beauty we inherited.
Most importantly, I want to leave behind a world where kindness is considered a strength. A world where differences in culture, religion, language, or appearance do not become reasons for hatred. Imagine what humanity could achieve if we spent less time building walls between ourselves and more time building bridges.
I know I cannot change the entire world alone. However, every great change begins with individuals making small choices. A kind word, an educated mind, a planted tree, and a helping hand—these may seem small, but together they can shape the future.
When my generation is gone, I do not want to be remembered only for what we achieved for ourselves. I want us to be remembered for what we protected, improved, and passed on.
The world I want to leave behind is not a perfect world. It is a better one—and I believe we can build it together.
