A New Beginning: STEM Child Care Academy Welcomes the 2026/2027 Academic Session

There is something special about the beginning of a new academic session. It is a time of fresh expectations, renewed commitment, new friendships, new classrooms, new teachers and countless possibilities waiting to unfold.

At STEM Child Care Academy (SCCA), the 2026/2027 academic session has begun with excitement, purpose and a renewed commitment to excellence.

As a British partner STEM school, SCCA remains committed to providing learners with a strong academic, ethical and moral foundation that prepares them to become global leaders in science and technology.

“We are determined to lay a solid academic, ethical and moral foundation that'll create global leaders in science and technology. These children will challenge the future and change the world.”

Preparing the Teachers: Starting with Those Who Teach

The journey into the new academic session began with the resumption of teachers on 31 August 2026.

The Chairman of the school welcomed the staff and encouraged everyone to remain committed to giving their best in their various roles. His message set the tone for a session centred on dedication, excellence and continuous improvement.

The occasion also provided an opportunity to celebrate excellence. Two teachers—the English and Science teachers in the College Department, who prepared learners for the Cambridge examinations and achieved outstanding results, were recognised and rewarded with cash gifts for their exceptional contribution.

The recognition served as a reminder that behind every successful learner is a teacher who is willing to go the extra mile.

Two Days of Learning, Reflection and Professional Development

Before welcoming the learners back, teachers participated in two days of intensive training designed to strengthen both professional competence and interpersonal skills.

The training covered a wide range of topics, including:

  • Being an intentional teacher
  • Understanding and knowing our learners
  • Emotional intelligence
  • Understanding different temperaments and working effectively with them
  • Customer relations
  • Communicating effectively with parents
  • Setting quality examination questions using Bloom’s Taxonomy
  • Building positive relationships within the workplace

These sessions went beyond academic instruction. They encouraged teachers to reflect on the kind of educators they want to be and the kind of learning environment they want to create for every child.

New members of staff were also officially onboarded, giving them an opportunity to understand the school's values, expectations and culture.

The remaining three days of the staff resumption period were dedicated to departmental trainings, meetings, planning and preparations for the new session.

In other words, while the school was quiet and the classrooms were empty, preparation was already in full swing.

The Learners Are Back!

After days of preparation, the much-anticipated day finally arrived.

On 7 September 2026, the pupils and students returned to school and SCCA came alive once again.

The school environment had been beautifully decorated by the decorating team on Sunday evening, with colourful balloons adding an extra touch of excitement to the atmosphere.

From the moment they arrived, learners were greeted with a warm and memorable welcome.

A Grand Welcome Through the Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony

The learners were initially received at the Multipurpose Hall. As more pupils and students arrived, everyone proceeded to the school entrance for a special opening ceremony.

The learners were arranged according to their classes, beginning with Year 1 and progressing through Year 11, with their teachers positioned behind them and members of the management team standing at the front.

The media team was also on ground to capture the memorable moments.

The School Manager officially welcomed the learners, after which the School Superintendent invited them to chant:

“SCCA 2026/2027!”

The chant echoed twice, building excitement among the learners and staff.

Then came the highlight—the ceremonial cutting of the ribbon.

As the ribbon was cut, the school erupted into cheers and applause, officially marking the beginning of another academic journey at STEM Child Care Academy.

And, of course, no grand welcome would be complete without some fun! Two mascots were present to entertain the learners and add even more excitement to the celebration.

A New Classroom, A New Teacher, A New Journey

Following the ribbon-cutting ceremony, the Primary learners returned to the Multipurpose Hall according to their classes.

Starting with Year 1 and continuing through Year 5, learners were introduced to their new classes and teachers before proceeding to their respective classrooms.

For many of them, this meant meeting new teachers, seeing new classmates and beginning a new chapter in their academic journey.

The College learners, meanwhile, proceeded to their first assembly, where they were addressed by their Head and other members of staff.

Our Little Ones Were Not Left Out

At SCCA, every learner matters, including our youngest learners.

The Preschool Department also had a lively and colourful welcome. Teachers were outside playing music, dancing with the mascots, and warmly receiving the children as they arrived.

The cheerful atmosphere helped create a welcoming environment for our little learners as they began another exciting school year.

Welcoming Our New Students and Parents

The excitement continued on 8 September 2026 with the school's “Welcome New Students and Parents” programme.

By 10:00 a.m., the school was beautifully decorated with balloons, while music played softly in the background.

The School Manager warmly welcomed the new parents and students and introduced the members of the management team.

The new families had the opportunity to become more familiar with the school community, meet members of the team and begin what we hope will be a rewarding partnership between home and school.

Pictures were taken to capture the special moments, snacks were provided for the children, and the new learners were eventually accompanied to their respective classrooms by their teachers.

The Primary Department Begins Its Journey

Also on 8 September, the Primary Department held its first assembly of the new academic session.

The learners were warmly welcomed and addressed by the Head of Primary, who set the tone for the academic journey ahead.

As learners settled into their new classes and teachers began their lessons, the school gradually transitioned from the excitement of resumption into the rhythm of learning.

Looking Ahead

A new academic session is more than a return to school. It is an opportunity to start again, dream bigger, learn more, build stronger relationships and become better versions of ourselves.

At STEM Child Care Academy, we understand that education is not simply about passing examinations. It is about preparing children to think, create, solve problems, demonstrate character, and make meaningful contributions to the world around them.

The 2026/2027 academic session therefore comes with renewed expectations and a shared responsibility among teachers, learners, parents and management.

As the classrooms fill with curious minds once again, one thing remains certain: the journey has begun.

Welcome to the 2026/2027 academic session at STEM Child Care Academy—a new session, a new beginning, and another opportunity to nurture children who will challenge the future and change the world.

Welcome Back, SCCA!
